dc.descriptionLos adolescentes que viven con VIH (AVVIH) presentan barreras para su adherencia al tratamiento antirretroviral (TAR), las cuales están vinculadas a pocos conocimientos sobre su enfermedad y tratamiento. Las características de los servicios médicos de atención pública requieren de intervenciones breves que se adecúen a las necesidades de sus pacientes. El objetivo de este estudio fue probar la efectividad de la intervención de una única sesión basada en el modelo IMB, orientada a los conocimientos y la percepción del VIH y TAR en AVVIH mexicanos. Participaron nueve adolescentes de 12 a 19 años con conocimiento de su diagnóstico, quienes acuden a un hospital pediátrico de tercer nivel en la Ciudad de México. Se trata de un estudio preexperimental con evaluación pre y posintervención, además de seguimiento durante un mes. Se registró un incremento en los conocimientos sobre el VIH y TAR, así como un mantenimiento en el seguimiento (x. = 10.18; p = .006). Desde la preevaluación se observó una percepción favorable sobre el VIH y TAR, que se mantuvo en la posintervención y seguimiento.
dc.description.abstractotrodiomaAdolescents living with HIV (ALHIV) face various barriers that affect their adherence to antiretroviral treatment (art), linked to the lack of knowledge about their disease and treatment. The characteristics of public care medical services require brief interventions that are adapted to the needs of their patients. The aim of this study was to test the effectiveness of a single-session intervention based on the IMB model focused on the knowledge and perception of HIV and ART in Mexican ALHIV. The study was conducted with nine adolescents between the ages of 12 and 19 years. These adolescents were aware of their diagnosis and attended a tertiary-level pediatric hospital in Mexico City. This is a pre-experimental study with pre- and post-intervention evaluation and one-month follow-up. There was an increase in knowledge about HIV and ART between the pre-and post-evaluation, as well as maintenance in the follow-up (x. = 10.18; p = .006). From the pre-assessment, a favourable perception of HIV and ART was observed and maintained in the post-intervention and follow-up.
