Aims: To estimate prevalence and correlates of DSM-IV personality disorder clusters in the World Health organization World Mental Health (WMH) Surveys. Method: International Personality Disorder Examination (IPDE) screening questions in 13 countries (n = 21 162) were calibrated to masked IPDE clinical diagnoses. Prevalence and correlates were estimated using multiple imputation. Results: Prevalence estimates are 6.1% (s.e. = 0.3) for any personality disorder and 3.6% (s.e.= 0.3), 1.5% (s.e.= 0.1) and 2.7% (s.e. = 0.2) for Clusters A, B and C respectively. Personality disorders are significantly elevated among males, the previously married (Cluster C), unemployed (Cluster C), the young (Clusters A and B) and the poorly educated. Personality disorders are highly comorbid with Axis I disorders. Impairments associated with personality disorders are only partially explained by comorbidity. Conclusions: Personality disorders are relatively common disorders that often co-occur with Axis I disorders and are associated with significant role impairments beyond those due to comorbidity.Item Lifetime and 12-month treatment for mental disorders and suicidal thoughts and behaviors among first year college students(John Wiley & Sons, 2019) Bruffaerts, Ronny; Mortier, Philippe; Auerbach, Randy P.; Alonso, Jordi; Hermosillo De la Torre, Alicia E.; Cuijpers, Pim; Demyttenaere, Koen; Ebert, David D.; Green, Jennifer Greif; Hasking, Penelope; Stein, Dan J.; Ennis, Edel; Nock, Matthew K.; Pinder-Amaker, Stephanie; Sampson, Nancy A.; Vilagut, Gemma; Zaslavsky, Alan M.; Kessler, Ronald C.; WHO WMH-ICS Collaborators; Benjet, Corina; Borges, Guilherme; Medina-Mora, María Elena; Center for Public Health Psychiatry, KU Leuven, Leuven, Belgium; ronny.bruffaerts@kuleuven.beItem Mental disorder comorbidity and suicidal thoughts and behaviors in the World Health Organization World Mental Health Surveys International College Student initiative(John Wiley & Sons, 2019) Auerbach, Randy P.; Mortier, Philippe; Bruffaerts, Ronny; Alonso, Jordi; Benjet, Corina; Cuijpers, Pim; Demyttenaere, Koen; Ebert, David D.; Greif Green, Jennifer; Hasking, Penelope; Lee, Sue; Lochner, Christine; McLafferty, Margaret; Nock, Matthew K.; Petukhova, Maria V.; Pinder-Amaker, Stephanie; Rosellini, Anthony J.; Sampson, Nancy A.; Vilagut, Gemma; Zaslavsky, Alan M.; Kessler, Ronald C.; WHO WMH-ICS Collaborators; Borges, Guilherme; Medina-Mora, María Elena; Department of Psychiatry, Columbia University, New York, New York.; rpa2009@columbia.edu (Randy P.
